This CA Privacy Act Policy supplements Peterson Investigations’ general Privacy Policy and explains the rights of California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) (California Civil Code Section 1798.100 et seq.) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

Your Rights Under the CCPA / CPRA

  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information
  • Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (if applicable)

  • Right to be free from discrimination for exercising your CCPA/CPRA rights

Peterson Investigations does not and will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. Peterson Investigations does not and will not sell your personal information.

Exercising Your Rights

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request. Where required by law, we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid opt-out request.

Authorized Agents

If you would like to use an authorized agent registered with the California Secretary of State to exercise your rights, we may request evidence that you have provided such agent with power of attorney or other valid written authority to submit requests on your behalf.

Categories of Personal Information Collected

In the preceding 12 months, we may have collected the following categories of personal information:

  • Identifiers: name, postal address, email address, telephone number, and IP address.
  • Internet or other electronic network activity: browsing history, device information, and interactions with our website.
  • Geolocation data: general location derived from IP address, used for website security and analytics.
  • Inferences: preferences or interests based on your interaction with our Site.

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill business purposes or comply with legal requirements.

Notice of Financial Incentive

We may at times hold contests or provide special offers to users who have elected to let us contact them by email, text messaging, or social media. Participation is voluntary, and users always have the option to opt out. Information collected may include contact information and preferences, and may be used by third parties working on our behalf to contact a winner or send special offers. Any contest or offer is reasonably related to the value of the consumer’s data.
