Location Services

LOCATES (FOR COURT CASES, FAMILY MEMBERS ETC.)

People come in and out of our lives through the years and we may often wonder what ever happened to them.

Others may be searching for someone they do not even remember, like a birth parent or a sibling given up for adoption. No matter whom you are trying to locate, a private investigator can help you in your search. A P.I. is a highly trained individual who has the knowledge and skills to track down long-lost loved ones and friends.

Typically when a person enlists the help of a private investigator to locate someone, they have exhausted all of the searches and interviews that they can think of. While some people can be easily located on the Internet, others are much more difficult to find. There are many sites out there that claim to help people search for loved ones. Often, these “people search” sites feature nothing more than outdated public records and databases that give very little relevant information for locating people.

A private investigator has access to sources and data that the average person does not. Investigators are trained to access and use public records. They are skilled professionals who follow up on leads and interview others to find the information you need. You will receive so much more information from an investigator than what you could obtain on your own.

To begin the process you will want to provide the investigator with as much information about the missing person as possible. First, middle, and last names, date of birth, social security number, last known address, age, or any other information that you feel could be relevant to the search. Even the smallest, most insignificant details can be helpful. When you speak with your investigator, he will ask you pertinent questions so that he can create a plan for action.

If the only information you have is a name, do not be discouraged. Investigators can locate people with very little information to start from. Keep in mind that if you are unable to provide a lot of useful information, the investigation may take longer. Obviously, some people are harder to find than others. For example, those running from the law, hiding from creditors, deadbeat parents, and substance abusers may require more work to locate than the average person.

Once your interview is complete, the investigator will conduct extensive searches through investigative databases that are not available to the public. These databases are much more inclusive than those available on the Internet or through public records. It is a good place for investigators to start their search. If the person has not yet been found, the investigator will conduct interviews with former neighbors, friends, and colleagues of the person he is trying to locate.

The cost of these services is usually dependent on the time and effort that it takes to locate the missing person. Generally, it will cost less if the information you have about the person is relevant and specific.
