  1. Pay attention to your environment and make note of anything out of the ordinary…new cars in the area. 
  2. Don’t delete any social media posts or communication that the suspect has directed at you…new and past.
  3. Be aware of your surroundings.
  4. Make sure your house is secure…proper lighting, cameras.
  5. Advise your family, neighbors, co-workers and friends so they can be an extra set of eyes.
  6. Keep a past/present timeline of what is occurring with related evidence…social media posts, notes left, vandalism.
  7. Report the crime to the police.
  8. Obtain a temporary restraining order at your county courthouse.
  9. Make sure you have plenty of copies of the restraining order at the police departments where you live and where you work and keep a copy with you.
  10. Keep the police investigator and private investigator informed of any additional occurrences so it can get added to the case.
