- Pay attention to your environment and make note of anything out of the ordinary…new cars in the area.
- Don’t delete any social media posts or communication that the suspect has directed at you…new and past.
- Be aware of your surroundings.
- Make sure your house is secure…proper lighting, cameras.
- Advise your family, neighbors, co-workers and friends so they can be an extra set of eyes.
- Keep a past/present timeline of what is occurring with related evidence…social media posts, notes left, vandalism.
- Report the crime to the police.
- Obtain a temporary restraining order at your county courthouse.
- Make sure you have plenty of copies of the restraining order at the police departments where you live and where you work and keep a copy with you.
- Keep the police investigator and private investigator informed of any additional occurrences so it can get added to the case.
